Improved English content and accessibility on mobile units are main features of the revamped site www.yrkesfisker.no.
The Norwegian Maritime Authority recognizes that an increasing number of fishermen on Norwegian fishing vessels are not fluent in Norwegian. Most of these use English as their main language while at work in Norway.
In order to increase the knowledge of safe work routines, Norwegian safety culture and attitudes it is important for the NMA to provide an English-language website. We will attempt to do this on www.yrkesfisker.no.
- The NMA is dedicated to improving all our online services. It is important to reach out to the fishing community wherever they are. This also means we have to improve our accessibility on mobile units, which the new www.yrkesfisker.no is designed for, and to improve our communication in English, says Director general Olav Akselsen of the NMA.
The all-new website will debut just ahead of LofotFishing 2015. Feel free to visit us on stand no 15, and let us know what you think of the site.
